NAWBO Orlando, chartered in 1995 as NAWBO Central Florida, is one of more than 80 chapters of the National Association of Women Business Owners, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2005.
NAWBO is the only dues-based national organization that represents women business owners across all industries and is affiliated in more than 35 countries with Les Femmes Chefs d'Entreprises Mondiales, the World Association of Women Entrepreneurs. NAWBO's strength comes from its diversity, with members of all ages, cultural and professional backgrounds, sizes of business, and levels of experience in business.

Membership is open to sole proprietors, partners and corporate owners with day-to-day management responsibility. Active members who live in a chapter area automatically join both their local chapter and the national organization. There is also an at-large membership for those outside the chapter areas. Membership dues are paid annually.
NAWBO Orlando holds membership meetings at least once a month with a variety of events: mentoring breakfasts; motivational speakers; networking. The chapter also hosts several annual events, including the Beacon Awards in the fall and a business Expo in the spring. All events are open to members and guests.
Vision
NAWBO Orlando provides support, resources and opportunities to propel women entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power worldwide.
Guests are welcome to attend 3 meetings as a guest before membership is required.

The Disney Entrepreneur Center (DEC) announced today that the National Association of Women Business Owners - Orlando Chapter (NAWBO) will join the center as its newest resident. On July 15, 2009 NAWBO will become one of 12 business support organizations that occupy offices at the DEC, located at 315 E. Robinson Street, Suite 100, in downtown Orlando.
“We have been a longtime supporter of this dynamic organization and are excited to welcome NAWBO into the family of organizations that call our center home,” says Jerry Ross, Executive Director of the DEC. “We are confident this will improve our efforts to serve the women business owners of Central Florida.”
NAWBO Orlando is one of about 80 chapters nationwide, and the organization and its members have won numerous national awards for work that supports entrepreneurship. The chapter and its 501(c)3 nonprofit sister organization, the NAWBO Orlando Foundation, are founding partners of several Central Florida-based initiatives, including The Beacon Awards: Celebrating Diversity in Greater Orlando’s Workforce; Share the Wealth Women’s Business Expo and Trade Show; Go for the Greens Business Development Conference for Women Entrepreneurs; and the Central Florida Athena PowerLink program |
